The K M Links Game - May 2021 Week 1 Results
17 Answers
Good morning everyone - very dreary Monday here, sort of day to stay put, but it's mad Monday here so I'd better get busy ....
Not a lot to report on the links party .....lots of possibles and the matches were 'not the first one that came to mind' but you found them all ....I wasn't so lucky !!
Clock Work
Ring Side
Bell Pull
Soap Powder
I was quite expecting to hand out Bonus Points but no opportunity arose ....pity !!
Three players ....HARAS2, JILLYWISKAS & LOZZY were on the ball and collected three points for two correct matches, while a further 16 picked up a point each to get started ....the rest of us put our hopes on next weeks round.
The very baby LEADER BOARD .....
3 points - haras2, jillywiskas & Lozzy
1 point - 16 players
Congratulations to those lucky points scorers, getting off to a good start, keep up the good work, and we do have the extra week to help us all along.
Take care, stay safe, see you all next time, Cheers, Steff

Mad Monday is just my name for today ....I have my helpers both coming this afternoon which makes it all a bit hectic !!
Is today a specific Holiday for you ...and why are they all called Bank Holidays ??
I notice you never say a word when you do manage a score, young grizzle pot !!

>>> I notice you never say a word when you do manage a score
That's because I'm in deep shock, Steff ;-)
>>> why are they all called Bank Holidays
Strictly, they're not all called bank holidays. The British government passed the Bank Holidays Act into law in 1871, declaring that on four days per year all banks must close, with the intention of causing the knock-on effect of closing most other businesses too (on the grounds that traders couldn't pay in, or take out, money on those days).
The days stipulated were Easter Monday, Whit Monday, the first Monday in August and Boxing Day. It was thought unnecessary to include Good Friday and Christmas Day in the list, as they'd always been traditional holidays.
Things have moved on since then but the successor legislation (the Banking and Financial Dealings Act 1971) now designates six days per year as bank holidays, with Good Friday and Christmas Day still not included in the list (but being public holidays nonetheless).
Today is a bank holiday which, in accordance with British tradition, means that we've got cloud, rain and 70km/hour winds forecast ;-)

This photograph was taken at the British seaside (Southend-on-Sea) on August Bank Holiday 1966. (I recognise the exact spot it was taken at). It's basically what we've learned to expect on a bank holiday ;-)

Thanks Chris that’s a gem, especially August !! At least yours are consistent... ours can fluctuate between 42d & 5d ...not good weather for anything !!
When I think about it, ours are just Public Holidays, rarely defined by name ...and of course the banks close, hotly pursued by the post offices !!
See ya, guys - must fly !!

Love the Bank Holiday pic. Something about black and white photos that gets the message across far better than colour.
No points for me either, so might have a go at that bicycle polo you mentioned last week, Steff. I haven't cycled since the knee replacement, so could be interesting... on second thoughts, I'll go and pet those elephants .... cheers all, well done to the points scorers, thanks as always, Steff!
