I was thinking of Waterlooville too.

hi juliely, I'm struggling with some of the clues on your local quiz
Question Author
I was thinking of waterlooville, but it doesn't quite fit the clue
Me too, Olivia.
200th victory must refer to nelson's victory at trafalgar so would be portsmouth ?
My idea was Wincton...win = victory, c = 100 in Roman numerals and ton = 100, too...so "200th victory". There are Internet references to such a place spelt thus in Hampshire, but sadly the Ordnance Survey lists the place-name as Winkton. Pity!

good try quizmonster, do you fancy trying the first place on the quiz, the route starts at dover and moves clockwise, I've done all except 5. the first clue is "Stand and gaze in awe" and is somewhere west of Dover
It's a pity there isn't a place near Dover called Beargape or Brookmarvel, Olivia! I've had a look at a map of the area but came up with nothing, I'm afraid. I'll be back if anything occurs to me, though.
Waterlooville is almost on a straight line between Winchester and Chichester.
