I dont think so rds2525 , clue 3. is A cinque port now, which I beleive refers to one of the last two ports. Clue 4 is Name the 5 originals, so this refers to the original 5 cinque ports, clue 5 is Staff through an opening... Polegate, so you can see where I am up to

Are you sure it starts at Dover? Does it say so or have you deduced that?

I was thinking 1 could be Broadstairs if Dover is not 100% fixed. (There's a Broad Stand in the Lake District)

There's a town (village anyway) between Dover and Folkestone called HAWKINGE - you can get 'in awe' from it, or 'gawk' and 'in', but I'm not sure about the complete clue.

Or it could just be Dover - you stand and gaze in awe from the white cliffs!
