Afraid i've done it again! Filling in my Sunday Express grid in pen to try and be clever and i've made a mistake. Anyone know if it's acceptable to tippex out or if not how a mistake can be corrected so as not to de disqualified. Would completion in pencil be acceptable? Of course this is just in the million to 1 chance mine is first out of the hat! Thanks in advance....

I tippex out mistakes and send them in.Unless it says in the rules and regulations that no tippex is allowed I wouldn't worry.
Me too! I have wondered this but I can't see why it would matter.
I think that the main consideration is that the crossword remains easily readable. Sometimes legibility is lost when tippex is used and I think that if your crossword is picked out of the bag but the judge has trouble reading it, he/she won't spend to long trying to decipher it but will just pick another.

Thanks everyone for your replies so far. When I can find them i've read the rules but can't recall ever seeing anything about alterations. On legal forms, exams etc tippex is not permitted but obviously this is different. Whoever opened the 'winning' envelope knows that only they have handled it (I suppose).
