I wonder what the chances are of all our quiz entries beating the closing date.

It's a bit hit and miss. I sent something to Scotland on the 6th and it only got there yesterday. But a friend sent something from SW London and it got to Somerset in 4 days and that was over a weekend.

I guess the way forward for quiz setters is to ask for BACS or PayPal payment before sending out quizzes and accept email entries. Obviously increased entry fee must reflect additional costs for setter and reduced costs for entrant.

Our Lovatts puzzle magazines are well overdue and we've no post until Friday. We are going out tomorrow to get them from the shop as there is no guarantee they will come then. All our post in the last week has been junk mail so I don't know what's happened to them. It showed a mail centre this morning on tv and it was a massive room full of undelivered post. Not good if you're expecting anything important.

Let's just hope the setters of the Quizzes are kind to us and allow a few extra days to allow for this.
