The answer appears to Billingate (the fish market)

Billing (sending account) + at + e (end of June)

It's a place and has the "bill" to link with a bird (beak)

The fish market is Billingsgate, and I can't see where you'd get the S from.

There is a place on Merseyside called Billinge which would fit, though.

Gill I agree, you have made the right choice. I was thinking on the hoof as it were - and I hadn't seen the clue before. The key was to get Billing - so I wasn't too far away! Notice that I did try to use words that expressed an element of doubt. Well spotted CJP!
