Is there a theme? I see hairdresser but not a definition for such. I couldn't stop thinking on 'lops' because they are the specifically long eared rabbit variety.

But this site allows it. We should not be discouraging ABers from asking questions.

But we should be encouraging them to comply with the rules of any quiz they do.  Or do you think it's OK to ignore those rules?  If so, how do you justify that?

My justification is it is that it encourages others to be interested in the quiz and maybe they will take part in the next one.

Some people will be asking everyone they work with, the people they drink with and everyone else whilst others might be isolated and housebound and have nobody offline to ask.

Some have access to resources that others don't.

That it is impossible to enforce any rules on a postal or online quiz with a generous timeframe.  

Many ABers enjoy trying to answer these questions.

But the quiz setter has deliberately chosen to make the quiz no asking and hence doesn't want questions from it asked on AB whether or not that might lead to more interest.  So your justifications are not valid.  If people don't like the rules of the quiz then they shouldn't buy it.  Buying it and then ignoring the rules is cheating.

And how is the fact that some ABers like to answer the questions of any relevance?  If they are that keen then they should buy the quiz themselves and hence contribute towards the organisation trying to raise funds rather that doing the quiz for free on AB.

The quiz setter is at fault for making rules that cannot be enforced. You should be trying to persuade the quiz setter to make things fair for everyone and not to cause animosity by making such stupid rules.

This site is a question and answer site and will assist anybody asking questions. The quiz setter is showing bias towards certain groups by making such a rule, and I personally find this most unfair and I don't regard people asking on here as cheating, they are just levelling the playing field for an unfair quiz!

Isn't the aim of these quizzes to raise money for charity?  If people who pay to do the quiz can't finish it, they may be discouraged from doing another one. 

The only way this rule can be enforced is for everyone to do it at the same time, in a closed room with an invigilator

It's not up to the AnswerBank to police other people's rules.

Giggypoo, don't worry - this situation (should we help when the rules of a quiz say not?) arises on AB every so often. As Naomi said, it's not up to AB to enforce the rules that setters try to set down.

It is your choice Giggypoo but we can say what the setter has requested as a few people then won't provide an answer.  You did ask 10 questions from this same setters quiz last time
