Hello,

I am looking for an expanding foam to fill some gaps between a window and the surrounding brickwork.

Can anyone from experience recommend one that is worth getting.

Thank you

In my very limited experience, the foam is too light & foamy to do more than fill the volume. Don't rely on it for support,  and use a more standard filler on the outside for the exposed bits.

Two main types: 'gun grade' and 'hand held'.  Gun grade is easier to use and control, but you do need the gun (£20-30,) and also foam gun cleaner or you'll be bunged up next time you use it.

Since your use is non-structural, any brand will do. Look at Screwfix. They have the lot. I can honestly say I've had no problem using their cheap 'No Nonsense' brand. I think you'll be fine with 'Hand held'. Nothing to clean then. Just make sure you poke the thin piece of tube right inside the gap.

Trim off the excess with a 'Stanley knife' blade.

And wear disposable gloves . Or spend the rest of the week trying to get it off your hands.🫣
