This sprung to mind as I've just finished a meal of fish and chips (home cooked, not takeaway) with tartare sauce.  I like the latter so much I then start spooning it straight out of the jar - yum yum.

Do you have any such quirky tastes or indulgencies ?

I'll happily eat ice cold salted butter on its own...the kind with chunks of seasalt in it. Just bits mind you.

i eat cold  baked beans with my salad

Cold baked beans are lovely; not so keen on salad.

I sometimes have piece of toast with butter, marmalade & cheese.

Cold, mashed potato sandwiches. Lovely!

I don't often make tablet but, when I do, I like to have some condensed milk spread on a slice of buttered bread.  Also like eating baby beets straight from the jar 😋

Oh yes, Haz. Beetroot from the jar. 👍

When I was younger, I liked a Hellmans mayo sandwich after school...I probably still would. I also put ketchup in cottage cheese.

peanut butter from the jar!

mine has been watered down though, otherwise id choke trying to swallow it.

heads of garlic cooked in the microwave, 2 mins max, yummy after its cooled down.

Spoonfuls from a jar of malt extract - delicious.

Peanut butter jars always had a pond of oil on top which had to be mixed in - lovely; but now a thick paste which sticks your gob shut and doesn't taste the same.

I like drinking the vinegar from a jar of pickles or cockles.

I alway eat the bones and skin from a tin of salmon.

Most of that sounds 'orrible but I am with Piggynose, just made a satay and had to have a small spoonful of peanut butter before putting the jar away.

Tilly cold potato with salad cream and crisp yum!

Sprout sandwiches

I used to dip my spoon into the butter dish as a child.  I can't think of anything worse now.

^^^ Was butter and sugar for me - ouch!

If I have celery in the fridge, I sometimes dip a piece in peanut butter. Celery makes the peanut butter less dry. Tastes lovely together!

I used to like drinking vinegar.  My Mum said that if I did that, it would make my blood dry up

I also like vinegar either out if the bottle or jars of pickle. When I was small we used to have a piece of bread, half toasted, spread with condensed milk and dessicated coconut on top, then the whole thing toasted again until the topping went brown.
