17ac.Fiddle that can also be played upside down(5). I have ?T?A?


24ac. Obsessive collector's ring(6). I have ?A?P?E. It looks as though it should be MAGPIE but, if so, where does the ring come in?

17ac. I think this could be strad (short for stradivarius) which is also darts back to front (played upside down).


5 = Gideon (Andre Gide + on = working)

10 = Dudley (?) (dud + ley)
The magpie is the outer ring of a shooting target!

For Porilo. The Saga Organisation is for the over-50s and their headquarters is in Folkestone. The crossword appears in their monthly magazine. First prize �100.
