William the Foreigner? wallace means foreign
William Wallace was 'Braveheart'

William Wallace was a Scottish Knight who Governed Scotland for a short period in the 13th century. Braveheart was the name of a film loosley based on his life starring Mel Gibson. Wallace means foreigner.

I once read somewhere that it meant William of Wales as it was thought the origins of the family to have been in that country.
