It is considered that Wace did not have a christian name, and was just known as Wace! But Robert has been introduced in to the historical arena, and for the purposes of the crossword it is correct!

Robert. I typed Roman de Brut into Google and up came Wace. Typed in Wace and up came Robert.

I typed in the title of the poem on Yahoo search and up came Maistre Wace!! Robert It's got to be the!!
