36d Susie ('Sue' around 'is', reversed)
Crevice, I suppose (cr + e + vice, as in vice-president)
36d is SUSIE = SUE about IS (reversed)
2d is - gratin - not sure how it is reached as other half did that bit of the puzzle.

GRATIN is a dish covered with crumbs or cheese - but GRATIS means free.
