(a pedant writes...) q3: do we mean how many different colours & do we include the cue-ball & is white techically a colour anyway? q5: which end of the spectrum do we start from, & in any case there are a million or more distinguishable colours - the reason for the traditional 7 (ROYGBIV) is apparently Newton's continuing attachment to alchemy & mystical numbers etc (that's enough whimsical pedantry - ed)
