I haven't heard the term for decades but there used to be an advertising claim that the product was "sanforised shrunk". That surely couldn't be it, could it? Try Googling the phrase.

Thanks, but I don't think so. I did learn something though; Sanforise - a patented process for pre-shrinking material.
