I'm stuck on my last clue.

Like a few other ABers I'm finding the Times clues more convoluted every week. Most of them are a matter of guessing the word and trying to fit the clues around.

It's CHINO = material.

Start with CHINOOK = Indian and release OK = fine!

I must agree about The Times. I do the Saturday, Sunday and both Jumbos every weekend and recently, the Saturday has been the last one I finish. Strangely, it seems that every three or four weeks, there is one which is comparatively easy. I think the compiler is prone (as we all are) to highs and lows, it's nice to think of them as human, isn't it?

Nice to know there are more of us with the same problem, geo & Smiffy (give my regards to Danny, Plug & Toots, by the way, or am I Bashing up the wrong Street?) Thanx for the expl of chino, crofter - thought I knew my Indians - oops - Native Americans - come to think of it, a bit Non-PC that clue ain't it? :-)
