If you mean just in one move, then I think it's still the �46.5 million that Real Madrid paid Juventus for Zinedine Zidane. Other people, Rio Ferdinand for one, hae a cumulative total of more than that, (18 million West Ham - Leeds, 30 million Leeds - Man U)

and that new kid on the block.....18year old Messi who plays for Barcelona is valued at 100 million. His contract states that he can't leave for less than that. I'd imagine Abramovich has got his cheque book open and ready!!

mkt - every player in the Spanish league HAS to have a clause in their contract that states that he can leave if a certain fee is met. It's generally exhorbitantly high. Messi isn't at all unique in this.
