I recently read that a significant increase in The Independent's circulation was due to the introduction of Super Sudoku in the Saturday edition which attracts between three and four thousand entries every week. The prizes are relatively high value and, depending on whats on offer can be between 5 to 20 for electronic items and up to 50 for books per week. Does anyone out there have reliable estimates for the number of entries submitted to MoS or, indeed, any other popular crosswords. My guess is that the chance of winning the single prize are of National Lottery proportions. I know that The Listener only gets a couple of hundred - sometimes less if its a real stinker.
3 to 4000 entries per week!!!!!!! That is pretty awesome. You've got to be in to win though as I was one of the 20 winners of the 32" HD ready TV they gave away in February.
