I checked my letters for an anagram I posted earlier and they are correct so it doesn't look like it is diego maradona. Have the setters made a mistake or could it be anyone else, I am grateful for any ideas.

What clues do you have to the anagram? What question are you trying to answer? A football question? Obviously the answer's not Diego Maradona, because he doesn't have an 'f' in his name. Could be an African or Italian name because of the vowels, at a guess - but need more info

I am trying to complete the quiz in my local paper the Bexley Chronicle and all they have said is that it is a sports legend which isn't very helpful of them. They set 13 questions and selected letters from the answers to make up this person. The reason the F is in there is because the question was :

How many goals did Mike Pollit concede in the Carling Cup final? Then they wanted the first letter of the answer. My friend told me it was four hence me using F.

Someone else was trying to help on here and said it could be Diego but that would mean my F is wrong.

I think pollit was injured in the first few minutes and had to be substituted before any goals were scored. That would make the answer NONE, which means that Diego Maradona is indeed the answer
