i need help with other clues but its impossible to give the other clues on here as they are so convoluted but if anyone has answer to13 across or 22 across i would be grateful for the help

i can't justify shylock as an answer geo can you?


also it gives funny letters in other clues

From the information you supplied; shalom is the Hebrew word for peace and Shylock (7 letters) is Shakespeares best- known Jew.
I hasten to add that I haven't seen this crossword.

If we're talking about 'peace' there's a character called Silence in Henry IV part 2 ...

A shot in the dark here.


There is a women's (bird's - sorry) name 'Hortense'


There is a shade of blue Hortense Blue


Hortense losing tale = Hortens


And there is a character in Timon of Athens called Hortensius.


But I can't see how IUS comes out of "hence droppings"

9 across - Othello - over the top hello


1 down Coriolanus - I don't know why but it fits and I think the answers are all Shakespearian characters whose names appear in the Title of the play
