I'm sure 19 across is MONGOLIC - Google it and you find reference to "13 languages of the Altaic group". Anyone agree? And, while I'm here, how can the answer to 49 across be THE ETRANGER ?1 it's either L'etranger or The Outsider Classic Mephamism !!

In answer to Braniac's post, 48a is The Stranger. Although L'etranger is more correctly translated as the outsider, try googling it and you'll find several hundred thousand references to Camus' The Stranger.
