Still struggling to find an answer for picture Q113 - the beer or lager TV ad.

from the colour it doesn't look like a lager...

It's a black an white photo taken from a British Tv ad and shows a man holding up a pint of something, gazing at it with a big smile on his face .He has his arm round an equally smiley lady who's looking longingly up at hime.

There is a little round logo thing in the middle saying Friends of the.... The next bit is blanked out.

Also printed in capitals is Recovery Service Ring 061 228 0100

mike b It looks like there a bit round the top of the glass blanked out too. Looks like an X at the end. Am I on the right lines with Whitbread, or Wadworth's 6X, Castlemaine XXXX ?

This is gonna drive me nuts because i remember that advert. I will do some thinking and be back if it comes to me. Pretty certain it isn't Castlemaine.

I'm told it's Jimmy Mulville. That didn't help me any.

thanks sleuth. I presume Jimmy Mulville is the man in the ad?

I suppose we could google him and see if anything comes up. Its also been suggested that the it's a famous Manchester Brewery because of the old 061 phone number I expect. The only one that springs to mind is Boddington's but their ads featured "The cream of" I think, maybe this ad is an earlier one looking at the hairstyles. Do let me know if you come up with anything please...
