The above question appeared on a quiz show called the mint in the uk. After nearly a week the correct answer was given with prize money built up to �9000.


correct answer given was 4240. How? im adding above 4240 when i look at it in roman numerals. Any ideas?

Is 600 in Roman numerals MC? Goes 500 (M) + 100 (C)


60 is ? You can see I'm struggling! Long time since I did Classical Studies!

D is 500, so 600 = D + C (100);


L (50) + X (10) = 60;


VI = 6.


And..I've got a headache!

Thers normally no one correct answer to these quiz show questions. They basically come up with some obscure answer that nobody could ever work out and its a pure guess if you get it right.


Just think,if there were a formula to work it out, the answer would go pretty quick and they'd never fleece us of our money!

Nearest I can get is 4095.


The answer to the sum is 90. And adding all the numbers up to 90 (by pairing ...90+1, + 89+2, .... +46+4 = 91x 45). But that doesn't help.
