19th Century Economist

Which 19th Century Economist with Communist leanings was cremated at Woking and had his ashes scattered at sea ?. Help much appreciated.

Possibly John Stuart Mill.

He died in Avignon, France in 1873, and is buried alongside his wife.

It's no problem - Bill runs a couple of quizzes and has huge problems trying to stop people running off to sites like these. In this quiz there are usually a few tough questions which help separate the top few entrants - and more and more they are being put up here (or similar websites) which tend to act as spoilers.

In one quiz (of 50 questions) something like 25 questions were posted.

Bill starts out with reasonable questions, then he is up to his old tricks again and throws very difficult ones in. I gave up doing Great Brain Quiz,because of the time and effort it took. But we really do need helpf sometimes!!.

I think SKCOLL is possibly on the wrong track,as this is the Great FUN Quiz not the Great BRAIN Quiz,which is much more serious
Also as there isn't anything on the question paper about asking for hints on sites such as AB,I will continue to both offer and ask for help

I already made one comment on this particular question which appears to have been deleted!! However, although I am not in favour of every other question of Bill's quizzes being thrown up on here, the answer to this question is Friedrich Engels!!

Spursfan - if you read his letter that accompanies each quiz you will see that he does indeed ask for people to stop submitting questions to sites like this.
