15a Points to lark - it's no longer caged


I have ?S?A?E? is it ESCAPER or ESCAPED I know the points are ES and to lark is CAPER but the answer required seems to be in the past tense. Thanks

The operative word here is "it", as in "it's no longer caged". This conjours up an image of something that was caged - but is no longer! That is, it is an ESCAPER!
