Welcome to Title Builder Beta.

This small piece of kit is designed to make building your Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle question more effective. It should make finding your question easier for others and, the easier it is to find, the more likely someone is to answer it!

To build an easy to find question title simply select the paper and quiz, enter the quiz number if relevant and fill in the Publication Date. Once you’re happy click “Build Title” and the information should populate the Title field. Fill in the final required details of your question as you normally would, and click submit.

As this is a Beta we only have a limited number of papers and quizzes listed. If you think your favourite Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle should be listed here don’t hesitate to contact us.

Remember: You do not have to use the title builder - simply enter the title and question as you normally would and click submit!

I'd missed this one - the puzzle supplement went straight in the recycling without a proper look and has just been rescued. Not sure whether to attempt it or not given the 'fiendish' description, but I suppose I'll make a start later today.

Maybe it counterbalances the easy-peasy Araucaria this week

Yeah, it will give you a good challenge unlike Araucaria's. I love the achievement of finishing his but get disappointed when it's over. Sad old me.
I didn't get the ear one though, was it earwax?

For 27 I have Teheran (Hera in Ten) which makes 1 down an Iranian leader - but who he? My anagram solver is a bit defective in the Islamic hierarchical terms department.

With only 15 of the answers found I shall confess defeat... unless there's a sudden rush of solutions here.

I almost gave up yesterday and then got a flash of inspiration from nowhere, which started with Wayne Rooney 20d. Iv'e completed the bottom left corner but am as mystified as you by 1d and cannot get 5d either
When clues denu joy three times, unfortunately this is it! (4,3,6-6)

5d is July the twenty second - I assume an anagram but haven't checked it out in detail.

Still struggling with two or three but nearly there including the Iranian leadef
