Are there any Sagacious ones logged on?

15 across is driving me mad!! Clue is .......make light of it! (8) ?N?I?D?E. I thought the answer was ENKINDLE but then thought it could also be UNRIDDLE

Help appreciated.

I would say - ENKINDLE - to light or set fire to. I can't see unriddle. Maybe someone else can?

I agree with jim if it was unriddle I think clue would be throw light on it.

Both seem plausible to me. UNRIDDLE is to solve. This can be achieved by setting a clue (also known as a "light")

It is not clear from your posting, if the clue starts at "Clue is" or at "make light of it". Quite frankly, I don't think it makes much difference - but if it starts at "Clue is", then I think UNRIDDLE has the edge!

Thanks to the three of you for your suggestions.
Crofter is thinking on my lines - perhaps I should have been clearer with my question.
The answer has relevance to the previous clue (13 across) which is " One over the eight ....." Answer ENNEAD

15 across reads ".....make light of it!"(8)

There is therefore a connection between the two clues but what ?

Wheelbrace I keep coming back to this, but I just cannot see the connection between these two clues! Unfortunately, quite often there is no connection - but with Saga there should be!

Perhaps, when the solution comes out you can do a posting to search for an explanation.
