Have they made a ricket this month ? EG 17A .Japanese aboriginal. They want a four letter answer ,but there are 9 squares in the grid. Anyway I was a winner last month !!
I went to fill in Noel Coward as Composer of Bitter Sweet which is supposedly 30d but there is no 30d !!! I then looked closer and the whole puzzle is a complete b up.
Sorry ! Yes I see what you mean. The clue numbers are blurred on my copy and I have put it in 35 (I think). There are a lot of errors now I am looking at it properly. Thats a shame I was looking forward to doing it again. :-)
Congratulations to both winners last month. this one's a little tricky - I agree the numbering is out but I also can't figure out what should be after 15a there's enough room for a 13 letter answer - has anyone worked that one out ?
Have contacted the magazine and they say that an amended grid wi be posted on the website later today.
Hope that sorts it allout as the puzzle looks interesting.
We could carry on solving the clues in ther meantime!!
Congrats to both you winners.
You're teasing Quizmonkey - you must have exceptional eyesight - I can barely read the clue numbers, let alone work out the rest, so good on you if you've finished it !!
You don't need to see the numbers - all the clues are in the correct order, so just use the known sequence to fit them in the grid. I have only blacked out one white cell (in the 5th row) - everything else works just fine.
I guess being a crossword compiler myself, I know my way round a grid - but it's honestly not that hard. But a few of the words were new ones on me (ozaena!!!).
