Can anyone fathom out 24A Popular not wanting to go to sleep (3,3) Reckon it must be nod off, but can't see what popular has to do with it - or am I losing the plot??!

Could it be that it is popular and therefore done 'on the nod.-without a vote ? Very tenuous though.
Could it be pop off? I think that also means to fall asleep.
I wouldnt think NOD OFF is the answer for not wanting to go to sleep --but cannot think of anything better.

Thanks all. Agree kayakamina, a very tenuous answer, going to try nod and see what happens. See yet another MM grammatical boo-boo in DTGK today - 6D is asking for a verb as an answer, but "nit-picking" is an adjective, surely.....?
I've gone for "pop" as it's an abbreviation of "popular".
