I downloaded it, and after I picked myself up off the floor, had a go but so far have answered only four answers.
If I may ask a question; do the "Leisure Pleasures" referred to include computer games et al?
Hi, I have only had time for a first run through and short ponder on each clue. Solved 52 of them. That bodes well since on previous puzzles, I have achieved between 40 and 60 on a first attack.
To answer ontarioice's question, I don't think so. Out of those 52 answers I have solved, NONE of them are the registered trade names of games ,so that looks likely to apply to computer games too. Of course, that does not rule out genres of games.
Bear in mind that the answers are not necessarily games, but Leisure Activities.
. . . and sniffa, well done for solving 80 of them so quickly. Keep at it. It is just a matter of getting your mind attuned to that of the compiler. I have 4 of those you have listed but won't be giving hints for several weeks yet.
you have got to remember AB's i'm a past winner , & i go at it 24/7 for about 4 days, i'm obsessed with it, it's like a drug, it takes over my life for days on end.
well I've just got 40, but reckon that if i get 1 more a day I've still got plenty of time in hand.
My 4th quiz, and certainly the best I have done so far, so maybe I'm more attuned, or maybe i spend more time on lesiure activities so it's easier!
I'm up to 9 now. Managed to solve 5 in quick succession this morning. It seems that when I really ought to be doing other things (i.e. studying) I am able to solve a few of the clues, but if I sit down with the intention of just working on the puzzle I draw a blank!
sniffa I have also got down to the last 20 questions after one serious attempt. I stayed up until three in the morning on Saturday/Sunday working on Rainbow, so I DO understand your comment about 24/7!
It is quite addictive - but an excellent quiz and well worth the effort. Of the questions you listed as "not yet solved", I only had the answer to No. 54 - so there appear to be several that are potential headaches!
I'm getting better - now up to 76 answers ( not sure if all correct though ! ). Dying to ask questions, but I know that's not fair - plenty of time to go !
Usually get down to needing about 8 after first 4 days,a bit different this time though,I got thirty on the first pass,I have not looked at it since because I had to rush the wife into hospital with a mild heart attack, been back and forth to hospital since and she will have to spend a few more days there so I will still be on 30 when it is a week old.
Can't do 24/7 but when I setle down I do tend to become obsessed.
Thanks for you clues sniffa - glad that I could help you - It makes a nice change for it not to be a one-way street. It is the first time that I have tried this quiz and I am thoroughly enjoying it
I know I'll probably get heck from some for asking, but nothing ventured, nothing gained.
I'm going on a business trip next week. Don't want to fly so am going in train - 6 hour journey Monday and coming back Friday - another 6 hours.
I thought I would take my Rainbow quiz with me to pass the time, BUT I am staring at it like a chicken caught in a rainstorm. I haven't a b****y clue. I will actually send my email address if someone would please give me a hint as to how the setter's mind is working. Example numbers 21 or 23. I will not be entering into the actual competition, but would have liked to have had a go at it. I've done some anagrams and that's it.
OI
PS. I'm really not a stupid person, but my mind obviously is on the wrong track with Rainbow.
PPS. Please don't give me a hard time. NO will do if you don't want to help.
