Does it have a name?

Is there a name for the puzzle when you have say "Steam Train Spotter" or "Safety ????? Hand" and you have to find the missing word that links the two? Can anyone help please.

unfortunately not, i have tried everywhere on the web but never found one, even put in link words, but doesn't help, if anyone does find one please let us know!!

I think I've always seen them called Link-words or even Missing Links.

Thank you allotment10 - I was stuck on 5 of them - ended up getting the answer by putting Boris Gabov into a search and it came up with permission to "marry a cow"!!!! Mmmm. I have tried and will continue putting in searches for Link words and missing links thank you quizmonkey - not come up with a definate name for them yet but will keep trying. I would like to have a web site on my faves that I can just go to quickly, to "cheat". Like I have with an anagram 1 and a suduko 1 (but only if I get really stuck) :-)Thanks again.

i can't understand why its not working, so i have just posted the question in quizzes & puzzles as to why it won't come up, maybe someone will be able to help, you will see the question "donslots site", will keep you posted :-)
