There's an old traditional song for children called "Over in the meadow" where in verse NINE the lyrics refer to the old SCOTCH PINE!
If nothing better turns up, it could be your "fall back" position.

Granny C Your answer is MUCH better. I would start looking at your other answers and ask "Is there any tree that's missing that SHOULD be there?"

Suppose Hawthorne hasn't appeared yet, then google "hawthorne meadow" and see what hits you get!
PS I don't think that it is hawthorn!

Lea = meadow
PES= Public Elementary chool
Sapele is anagram of Lea and PES.
May not be what you want but worth a shot.
