An algebra problem that my cousin needs help with...It is: 2+c / c-5 = 8/9. How would i do that?Thanks!

It is unclear just what your equations are.
I think you mean (in the second one) (r + 3) all over r +
(r - 12) all over r = 5
In this case the solution is r = -3
Using the same reading of the question for your first equation you would have (2 + c) all over (c - 5) = 8 over 9
The solution would then be c = -58
Any other reading of the equations lead to more complex quadratics, with non-integral solutions
