Thanks for that. Just started it and was baffled by this fairly soon but thought it was me. Luckily, I turned to Answerbank to see if it had been reported. Is it anything to do with all those ex-Telegraph readers needing mistake to keep them on their toes?

I usually start by colouring in the squares - I suppose this goes back to my childhood!!!!!!!!! -and I could not work out why 14 down must have a black square above it but this corresponded to the third letter of 12 across - normally two letter words do not appear in a crossword!!!!!

I always wonder if it is JUST ME in these instances but thankfully kayakamina has confirmed what to do.

Back to the colouring in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
