A local radio station is playing a Manchester connected persons voice (male) with the following clues :

Hollow sounding
Wigan to Oldham,Bury to Stockport
Royalty

Does anybody have any idea who this could be ?
Place names could be actual football teams this person could have played for ?

Is there anyone OWENS? Just a thought.

There was an ealier enquiry that just mentioned Wigan to Oldham, Bury to Stockport. No mention of mystery voice or the other clues. I suggested W to O was west to east and the other was north to south, and it might relate to where they crossed.
Now I just wonder whether it is W-E N-S. With an O in front for possible hollow sounding would give Owens, if there is such a one, though where the royalty fits in is another question. I'll keep looking.

If you are stiil on the lookout, this has cropped up again, and I have suggested FOSTER, if there's a Foster who would fit the bill.

Fosse = a ditch (possible 'hollow' sound)
Draw line W to O and B to S, and it's more or less a letter T
And finally ER = royalty.
