cryptic clues

anyone know of a free cryptic clue solving site? i am really struggling with my latest quiz! thank in advance

I have often looked for one, but to no avail...usually posting on here gets you a speedy answer if you get stuck!

thanks, but i need about 25 at the moment, that's a few too many to ask for help. perhaps i better try a bit harder and ask when i'm desperate.

You could ask a few..especially when it's not busy, as now. I am not the best one to help you...you could do with the likes of Kayakamina, shaneystar and Sarumite...etc etc..there are quite a few of them. They are all very patient and am sure wouldn't mind helping. Give it a try..it might get you in 'thinking mode!'...that's if they are logged on, they will see them when they come on anyway. loopy lass, I've just given a really long answer to this question but unfortunately it seems to have gotten lost in the ether somewhere.
In essence I congratulated you on your attitude to completeing crosswords by yourself and not acting like some members ,( asking for help on the morning of publication), this is most commendable.
However, it can take some time to get the hang of the cryptic questions, so don't be afraid to ask if you're really stuck, and I'm sure you will improve.

I totally agree with geo0939! In fact sometimes am guilty myself of asking without thinking...but with a brain like mine!!! It does take time to get used to these puzzles..they take some thinking about and trying to understand the compilers way of thinking! But I assure you, posting on this website will be the best help and support you will get. They are clever, patient and helpful. Don't be embarrassed by how many you post! A lot love the challenge! People seem to get upset if it's 1 question after another without grouping them, especially on busy days...over the weekend and Monday.

thank you so much for your comments. it's nice to know there are people who are willing to help a "fellow quizzer" in distress. like you say, there are some people who get annoyed by question after question, but aren't they lucky that they know the answers and don't have to ask! i wouldn't be be cross i would be grateful i could use my knowledge to help other. thanks again, you've made my day.
