Clare - Were your settings by any chance stored as 'Bookmarks' and are you running 'Firefox'? If so you are not alone and should be able to retrieve the whole lot. Just let me know and I will give you instructions. ja

hi clare, sorry you're having a bad day, if my computer crashed i wouldn't know what to do ! ( i'm lucky that my hubby sorts it out when there's a problem, ) i hope you get sorted soon,
& tomorrows better for you.
Hi Clare - Wondered if you've managed to recover your settings yet. Don't lose heart as they may still be safe in a directory called 'Favorites' (American spelling). Open Explorer, Documents & Settings, User Name, Favorites and hopefully that's where you'll find all your missing links. My setup is a little different as I use a program called Mozilla Firefox which stores all my links in a different directory called 'Bookmarkbackups' which is why I was asking you about Firefox. Sorry if this confused you. I am now guessing you are using Internet Explorer under Windows XP. Anyway, see if you can find 'Favorites' which is usually marked with a large yellow star. If your links are hiding there then it's dead easy to recover them. Let me know how you get on. Regards, ja
