Can anyone help with last two please? 24a "Soldiers contribute nothing to game retreating" C???P? and 25d "Hear it first in orchestra before overture ends" ??O? - just cannot make sense of either of these - any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you Quizmonster, JMR27 and Tenter - note to Quizmonster I checked my 'c' and I had entered record instead of re-turn (clue was "official report about performance" - one of my usual silly mistakes)
