I am not to sure about this but it could be Eastenders, Ian Beales fish shop, his father was called Pete. ah perhaps
you could google Eastenders. Hope this helps

Thanks poorclare, but Eastenders comes up with Beale's Plaice. I'm stuck on this one as I have never watched the soaps.

My husband reckons it was in the soap that finished after many years. Sinbad was one of the characters and Sue Johnstone was in it in the beginning.
The title escapes us at the moment, but I thought it might ring a bell with you.

Many thanks rogerr. Can't find any mention of a chippy called Pete's Plaice. There is a Peter in the cast but he was a hairdresser. Will keep trying. Thanks again.
