on the puzzle page of my magazine there's two next in sequence puzzles. the first one was: 2 4 6 8 ? and the answer was 10. yep, easy. the second one was: 1 2 3 5 ? the answer was eight, and i couldnt figure it out. what is the pattern?

1+2 =3
2+3= 5
3+5=8

It seems to me that you add the last 2 numbers together. I'm a sucker for puzzles too. Have fun, and don't hesitate to get back to me with another teaser. Caz x
Such sequences occur quite often in Nature and are called Fibonacci sequences. One of our better AB contributors has used this as his sign-on name!
