I know that the compiler has said that noting the hidden entries is not a requirement of entry, I am blowed if I can see anything at all -- and certainly nothing that is similarly placed in each grid. If anybody has seen them could they please give me a hint (not the answer please )?

Hello ulysses - if you can manage to 'gather' the answers to the clues, then fitting them into the two grids should be a bit like a jigsaw - the best hint is that the 2 clues with 13 letters will only fit into the right hand grid.

A lot of the clues are easier than most Generalists, there are some tricky ones and I'm still hunting a couple, but some of the regulars have all the answers and possibly have it completed.

There's a thread probably 2 or 3 pages back which would give more help if you need it - good luck S
Me neither -and I thought I had finished! There are the two parts of the name of an artist, but not in the same place on each grid.
On the whole I found the crossword easier than usual - but maybe i've got it wrong.

seekerz --- I've completed the crosswords, and can send it off if I so wish. It's just that I'd like to find these "invisible" names........
I've got it!

Read the third row of the left hand crossword (ignoring the blanks), then [a] the first four letters then [b] the last three letters of the third row in the second crossword.
Then look at the left-hand (profile) common here

and also see the name of the crossword complier
for common read column.
Sorry I got a bit excited there. Nothing to do with Douanier Rousseau at all.

Well done atoach !
I looked at all these rows, but unfortunately the penny didn't drop. I didn't know that he had two other pseudonyms as well -- and I do Doc in The Spectator too .
Have only just finished allocating my answers to the grids, and just picked up on the three identities as determined by atoach. Yes, very well spotted indeed!
I've been too busy to do it yet. Got about 2/3rds of the answers now (I think) but may be back for some help.

My apologies ulysses, to be truthful I hadn't got as far as reading the second part properly, just getting the clues answered was bad enough. Now I find there's another challenge. Good luck to you, all the best S
I Have fitted in all the answers and like yourself would like to find the identies have read below but my ole head can't get it, is it the line across starting strymon ? that is mentioned ? would be pleased for a lead on finding the names Thanks

Pega,
I've disposed of my copy, but if you take the 3rd or 4th line down and read the letters going across both crosswords you'll discover some names. Didymus is one, the compiler, and he also does a couple of others under different pseudonyms : Gozo and Doc.

Merry Christmas
Thanks I've found them was 3rd line down , A happy christmas to you, the change in weather not good with fog for travelling after the nice days we've had.
