5. Canal. Anagram of a clan, and a cut is a canal.I think Glenmore is a Canal which joins the Caledonian Canal. Is this a Scottish crossword?

but only a few clues are like this most of the others are just difficult
where does brae come from

what would be your best guess for other two

A brae is a river bank; a bra is a support (!), not too sure about the e.
No 1. People fits in (family) but cannot see the France connection.
