kaya, these questions tally with my online version of the Times Jumbo 678.
PS. Has anyone noticed that the interactive grid for this crossword is wrong? I've emailed The Times about this, but normally it isn't fixed till Monday or Tuesday.

Geo I also downloaded the main 678 puzzle and had the same answers as you. I was doubtful whether Purplebird was doing this crossword as the two words offered were nothing like the actual answers!
I hadn't noticed the online grid problem yet- thanks for the tip.
