Hi,
My family and I have spent all Christmas trying to work out clues to a rotary club quiz. We're novices and have got stuck on the last 10 or so (of over 80 questions). Can anyone help? THe answers are all types of confectionery:

Sophisticated (1.5.2)
Ring the bells (7.3.6)
Make merry (6)
Laugh (7)
Enhance (5)
Think beetles (7)
Mixes in (7)
Night light (9)
Desert infants (5.6)
Caveman's weapon (4.3)
Underground fruit fragile (6.7)
Unbranded (8)

Another clue I have is 2 from 7 (4.3). Is there such a thing as a Five bar? Or could this be Week End (two words?)

Help!! Many thanks and a Happy New Year to everyone.

I've just re-studied the Think Beetles clue - it has a capital B, so we could be looking for something related to a VW Beetle, or a brand rather than the insect??

All that's left to find now is

Sophisticated (1.5.2)
Laugh (7)
Think Beetles (7)
Underground but fragile = peanut brittle
Looks like others on the site have had the same problem as you with the Sophisticated clue. Concensus seems to be that there's a word missing from the answer.
Five Bar was produced by Fry's way back when, and had five different centres.
Think Beetles looks to be Humbugs - Hmmm bugs.
Most of these are on the site if you do yourself a search.
(and i still think i'm right with Snicker!!!!)

Sorry Trojanfarce, I didn't see your answer to Laugh (Snicker). I agree that humbug fits with Think Beetles, but I've already got this answer for another clue (Singing insect [6]). Any ideas?
