Description of type of queen ant.
Yellow to black species, smaller in size (WL< 2.0 mm); eyes absent or present as dots in worker; absent, present as dots, or present and small but multifacetted, in ergatoid queen; pygidium as seen from above truncate in worker, concave in ergatoid queen.

Note that ergatoid has an extra letter than given in the clue.

Guys these are all fantastic, really appreciate the help.
on the "men stand looking" clue, yes I am certain about ???TER. I was thinming LOITER perhaps.

Any expansion on QUINTILIS? the answer has 3 letters before the QUINTILIS if correct.

I did find "euskarian" but anyone got an actual meaning just for my own know-how?
Question Author
One-Ice, have had in the back of my head "ergate" for the Ant clue. Have NO IDEA WHY, but it as there from the start and could not explain it.

cheers Salty, JRM27 and WTW too, all helping a lot!
