Dorcas is also a society founded in UK and now worldwide.
The original society was founded in Douglas, Isle of Man on December 1, 1834, as part of the community's thanksgiving for being spared from an outbreak of cholera. The poorer families in town had their clothes and bedding destroyed as part of the effort to prevent the disease. Today there are other Dorcas societies around the world, providing clothing and other physical needs.
MissBoots .... makes answering easier, if you say about the christian names in your question!

Dorcas is a presbyterian charity for women, but I do not think it is a chrisian name!
The maid in the Poirot adventure "The Mysterious Affair At Styles" is also named Dorcas.
Pantheon. We could debate this endlessly so why don't we agree to let MissBoots decide which name she wants to use.
O-ice :-)
The above site is quite fun ...I have been able to key in my own name, and have its plummeting popularity demonstrated graphically.
I gave it a go, too, Shaney. Looks like I'm still on the chart although did seem to peak in the 1990s.
