Rev Spooner lived from 1844 to 1930 was famous for mixing the beginnings of words. When giving a toast to the "Dear Queen" it would come out as "A toast to the Queer Dean" Such a slip of the tongue is now called a SPOONERISM.

My favourite Spoonerism is to address a troublesome person as a "shining wit"!
