KM has really grown into the task of setting good, but teasing xwords ...

A tricky alt spelling / medical terms / teasing answers not the usual words (eg 24d)

Has laid to rest all doubts ....

yeah - just finished

good puzzle today

congrats KM
Lector, my turn to ask you. There doesn't seem to be a KM thread coming up on my computer, though I've seen references to it. Can you direct me to the site so I can post my answers. Thanks
Forget that, I've just found it. Was expecting it to be dated the 17th

hi Christiana ... I went to get some breakfast!

Glad you sorted it out

Good Luck!
Agree - we're back to something of quality. Testing but interesting.
Are we talking about the same crossword? I finished it in 25 minutes (and I'm not trying to be bigheaded). Too easy by far.
I agree with sincnoel, by far the easiest one so far. Part of the fun is finding out all the obscure answers, but 39a was the first one of the across clues that stumped me!
Yes it was pretty well plain sailing today, most of the answers obtainable without need for reference .. but still perhaps the best weekly GK puzzle available (with possible exception of Sun Tel).
I like it because it's a true crossword and not a trawl through a search machine. I think it lives up to its title now of 'general knowledge.' Anything involving an hour and a half searching the internet is not 'general' knowledge - it's rocket science.

Good work Kate. Keep it up!

Must agree with sincnoel, cpfcrosie and sarumite, I found it quite easy today. I like to do the research, keeps the brain active.
I too thought it was rather an easy one today except for a couple. However, is 17d enuresis or enuretic?
I found it too easy this week, which in a nutshell doesnt say much for KM.
Come on Kate, we like you but need to have to use the old grey matter more.
Polly, I think it is Enuresis - Enuretic is the person not the condition and it is the condition they are asking for. I think I have that right, I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong. :-)
I am pretty sure it is enuresis but enuretic can also be an adjective, not just a noun so was just making sure I wasn't up the wrong gum tree
I did not find the puzzle very difficult - apart from 4d. - but judging by the number of cries for help it must not have been too far out. I do think Kate should avoid the very obvious clues, like 7a.
I'm definitely in the camp that approves of Kate on the grounds that this is General Knowledge and, while few of us know everything about everything without some help and a little looking up, endless research of the obscure and the overly scientific becomes tedious. Today's WAS easy, but I couldn't get all of them - and neither could several other AB-ers! Well done Kate
Well done, indeed, Kate. Those who find it too easy should turn their hands to something else. My well-educated family finds it quite testing but slightly less so than the late, lamented MM's puzzles, and I think additional obscure clues would put it beyond the compass of many. It would be interesting to know the average number of entries each week, compared with past years.
