9 M in the HE is most probably 9 Members in the "something". But i cant put my finger on it.

Come to think of it it could also me 9 Months in the "something" maybe 9 months in the human something referring to being pregnant?

9 Muscles in the Human..Ear? although googling it says the ear either doesnt consist of muscle but tissue and one site says it has 6. But thought it might help. Sorry for posting one after another by the way, the answers just keep coming to me :) we need a bloody edit option!

Just looked at another book which quotes 31 bones in a leg. The plot thickens!!!
