I've Googled that question and came up with the following:
http://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~smedlo/histo ry.htm
though not strictly battles there was some action on English soil during th second jacobean revolt- charles stewart the young pretender. Whilst the decisive battles took place in Scotland, Charles marched south in 1745, captured Carlisle after a five day siege and got as far south as Derby before turning back, there was a rearguard action on the way back up in 1746 near Penrith and a counter siege by the English forces to recapture Carlisle.
Define "battle. Sedgemoor (6th Jul 1685) was the last real pitched battle. Preston(14 Nov 1715) is known as "the Preston fight ", and Clifton Moor, Penrith (18 Dec 1745) was a light engagement. Take your pick anncuthbert !!
